Keeping your looks: To drink or to moisturise?
While everyone keeps on talking about the importance of consuming enough water for health reasons, we started wondering, what works best – moisturising or drinking lots of water if you want to keep your looks as well.
We had a talk with Danielle Block from Symbiosis Skincare, a company known for their philosophy of transparency and asked her just that.
“Water keeps your body hydrated, refreshed and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity. People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines and they won’t show as many signs of ageing as those who drink little amounts of water.” she explained but added that: “Moisturising can improve the appearance of your skin. It temporarily plumps the skin, making lines and wrinkles less visible.”
So in essence, what we gather is that water helps you from the inside to keep your looks and moisturising helps the process temporarily but efficiently. Neat, no?
We also wondered if moisturisers differ from creams as their Daily Shield Mattifying Moisturiser can be found in some of the Gay Packs this month.
“The Daily Mattifying Moisturiser differs from a cream as it’s used for restoring your skin’s texture, it’s lightweight and involves more water to hydrate your skin.” she says. “Its mild and lightweight formula gets absorbed easily and regulates sebum production to prevent breakouts. As a result, it tones down the oiliness, lending you an oil-free, matte finish.”
Not bad for a product to try out. Enjoy!
