How to Have a Relaxing Spa Day at Home

With all of the stresses of everyday life, it’s important that we take some time for ourselves… and just relax. You want to go at the luxury spa, but unfortunately it to late and it's closed or maybe it needs to be booked, and you need to plan ahead! Here are some great tips on how you can treat yourself at home at any time! Your mind and body will thank you.

1. Lemon Water

While you are enjoying your relaxing spa day, sip on mint and lemon infused water. You will feel refreshed and your skin will thank you. Get the recipe here, how to make lemon water.

2. Face mask

You don’t have any face mask at home? But what if I told you that you could create a pampering session for yourself in just a few minutes using only ingredients you could find in your kitchen? Yes, you can! Check the recipe below:

Ingredients

1/4-1/2 of a mashed banana
2-3 Tablespoons Greek yogurt
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp buttermilk
1 tsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice optional, avoid sun

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Mask should be thick enough such that it does not run down your face. Always test the mask on a small portion of the skin to test for allergic reactions.

If you’re allergy-free, apply a layer of the mask to your face and allow it to sit for 20-30 minutes. Wash off mask with cool water, followed by a splash of cold water to close your pores.

3. Foot bath

Give your feet a rest and treat your dry heals and toes in the process. This foot bath should have your feet ready for flip flops or open toes.

Ingredients

3 TBS olive oil
1 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup milk

Instructions

Steep in 1 gallon of hot water for 10 minutes before using. And then put your feat in this foot bath for 10-15 minutes.

4. Massage

5. Hand Mask

Everybody loves when your hands are soft and they’re nice to touch, right? Well, there’s a mask for that!

Ingredients

1/2 Avocado
1 egg white
2 tbs (11 g) oats
1 tbs (15 ml) lemon juice

Instructions

Cover your hands with the mask and leave it on to penetrate for 20 minutes. Apply a moisturising hand cream after using a hand mask. It will lock in the moisture and help smooth your hands.
