1. Use a face mask on it
It’s something we had not heard about for a while but now swear by it. We got the tip from the Queen of Pop, Madonna.
“It’s kind of a no-brainer,” Madonna says of butt masks. “You can take any face mask and try it on your behind. Skin is skin. I think people would want the skin on their butt to be smooth, glowing, and hydrated. I mean, I know I do. There are certain special people that get to see our butt and you want it to look its finest.”
And *she* sure knows what she’s talking about. She uses clay masks on it but we hear also peat as well as other moisturising face masks do the trick very well. Just put it on, lie on your belly, wait for the specified amount of time and voila!
Take her hint and try it out as soon as possible!
2. Scrub away
Want your bottom to feel as smooth as possible? One of the best ways is to regularly use a body scrub. It’ll remove these dead skin cells right off and usually also moisturise the skin. We’ve found that one of the best options is to get a coffee body scrub as it is full of moisturising ingredients, plus the smell is incredible! Okay, your bathroom might look like a war zone after it but it’s totally worth it. (PS! Gay Packs seem to feature a few of them quite often, we hear).
3. Shave it!
Fancy to have it even more perfectly smooth? Then the best way is to wax it or shave it. We hear that waxing is the best option as it gives the smoothest of results but using a body groomer can be easier and less painful. Some also like just trimming the hair there but it’s up to you. While it might be tricky, it’s doable and your bottom will feel much smoother after it. Just don’t forget to do it regularly, else it’ll look and feel uncomfortable.
4. Get better underwear
Have issues with sweating or feeling uncomfortable. Of course you do! Especially if you sit most of the day. The best cure there is to get breathable underwear – either with natural fibres such as bamboo or cotton – or choose boxers or jockstraps as your everyday underwear. If it’s too much then usually the better brands take at least the fabric part into account and feature most of the styles. Or just get a monthly delivery.

5. Shower immediately after working out
While it might sound like something everyone does, can you say you’ve never just hung out after a workout? While it might feel comfortable that moment (it’s why you do it, right?), hurry under the shower as soon as possible, it’ll feel much better in the long term. The reason is simple – not showering immediately will give the bacteria their ideal home. Unfortunately for them and you, you might not have the same vision what is best for this body. So, wash away!
If you’re really annoyed by sweating then one way is to spritz any antiperspirant spray on your cheeks for invisible sweat relief. Avoid powders, though as they can cause uncomfortable clumping.
6. Put some cream on it
Don’t forget to put some lotion on it regularly, especially after showering. A regular body lotion will do but you can try face cream too as the skin on your bottom is actually quite sensitive. Put a liberal amount of it there, let it dry and then you can put your clothes on. Else your underwear will be all greasy.
7. Keep yourself hydrated
Keeping yourself hydrated also has an affect in this area. Namely, it’ll smooth your skin even more and isn’t that about half of the job done? So drink enough. But if you’re in an air-conditioned or heated environment, don’t forget to use a humidifier. It’s quite often underestimated but did you know a lot of homes and offices have their air humidity at dangerous levels of under 20%? So feed your skin both inside and out – drink and humidify the air.
8. Eat well!
If you’re trying to shape it then there are certain kinds of food that almost invariably add volume to your butt – nuts, peanut butter, brown rice, cottage cheese, or paneer and most meats and proteins.
Fuel up on these foods if you’ve always wanted a fuller, rounder bottom. On the other hand, if you’ve been dealing with big-butt problems since forever, then you know what to cut down on.
One way to keep your bottom looking better and better is to actually.. exercise! We know, we know, it’s a bit annoying but is totally worth the effort. Or if you don’t have time for that, you can also do some power-walking – it helps quite a lot as well.
10. Contour it!
If all that is not enough – you can also contour it with some self-tanning lotion. No, really. First apply an all-over base coat to hide any imperfections. Then go back and give the W-shaped crevice under your bum an extra coat. This will give the illusion of a rounder, perkier derriere. Yes, it’s called butt contouring.
