How are eye creams different from face creams?

Seemingly both are simply fab creams - eye or face creams, that is. But there's a substantial difference which you're about to find out.

Eye creams are formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eye, so they tend to be thicker. They contain more oil than a regular facial cream, and they have a lot of active ingredients aimed at the problems we see around the eyes so it is important to include both in your skincare routine.

Best ingredients to look for in eye creams

“Hyaluronic acid is a great addition to an eye cream. Ageing around the eye area often is a result of dehydration so Hyaluronic acid works to restore moisture in the skin.” says Charlotte Hamilton from Avant Skincare, one of the top skincare brands out there.

Additionally, Collagen works well in an eye cream as it aims to enhance skin hydration and elasticity, minimise wrinkles and repair the outer skin surface.

Which reminds us that you can try out their Pro-Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch cream in your Out’n’Proud pack this month. It’s super luxurious and will last for a very long time (we know as it last 4 months in our testing!).

When to start using eye creams?

Since the thin, delicate eye area is where fine lines, tiny wrinkles or duller-looking skin typically appear first, an eye cream in your 30s can be of great help. However, it’s never too late to start!
